This simple blouse is part of the Anne Marie ensemble by Republique du Chiffon. I have been obsessed with this pattern since its release but never dared buying it, too afraid the style would not suit me. This year I received it as a birthday present from my friend Anne Lise, thank you!

The blouse has a very simple style, like a Tshirt for woven fabrics, and cute side buttons.

I already have fabric for my dream version, but wanted to make a wearable muslin first, to check the fit. I made an FBA and thus added a side bust dart, which I am glad to see working marvels.

The neckline is finished by bias binding, and it has a very feminine scoop, both at the front and at the rear. I am in love!

This test version has been very useful to notice that the blouse is a bit short for me. I can only wear it with very high waisted skirts or trousers. Nevertheless I enjoy wearing it! Next time I’ll lengthen all the blouse by a couple cm. more.

I’ve chosen a beautifully draping chambray, remnant from the Ivy pinafore, and some amazing buttons from my local haberdashery. It is amazing ho such small details can add a style touch to a garment!
